How old do you have to be to join Scratch?

idk really. i've seen a 5- year old user and i'm 13. Is 5 too young, 13 too old?

There really is no age limit, although some projects aren't as appropriate for some ages, and projects like that are frowned upon by the Scratch community.

Scratch is meant for all ages, but I remember seeing somewhere it was meant for ages 8+. I'm not sure if it applies anymore.

Meh. It shouldn't ALL have to be little-kid friendly.

I think that's true to some point. I don't think projects should be flagged just because of a small amount of cartoon blood or a word or two of very mild swearing. But I don't think Scratch should become like Youtube with all the cussing and bullying and increased amount of (bleh) Rickrolls.

That is what I absolutely hate about Youtube. There is so much cursing and rudeness, and they even feature videos about sexual topics... I am so glad that Scratch has such a friendly environment. that is one of the reasons I love it.

Me too. Youtube can give you a good LOL once in awhile, but It's not really that friendly.

There's no age limit to scratch.
We can be sure to see a lot of free-loading adults who don't want to pay for a professional programing language

No you're not! There is no upper or lower age limit for using Scratch or the Scratch website. Go ahead and have fun for your whole life

I've gotten an adult to get on Scratch and I teach them it but they don't ever go on unless it's teaching day. (And even then they don't do much. ) Any suggestions?

On Facebook I know you have to be 18 or over(I'm only 11 years old) but with Scratch there is no official "out of bounds", although the age group recommended is between 6 and 10.

I'd say them grouping is much wider than that! Maybe 6-14 or more.

you have to be able to work things out to scratch, so i agree with magnie 6+
