A good technique i found i that morre people view forum ads when the "thingy" is blue.
As you should know new posts and editing posts in a topic make the "thingy" blue.
So just keep editing posts! It works for me! Plus if you put a new post or edit a post on a topic, its automatically moved to the top, right under sticky topics, which makes people more likely to view, them.
Lol, Longest post yet

Andresmh has excellent advice. I would like to see more theme galleries with very specific themes, and fewer huge galleries.
I have created two theme galleries: Names Projects at http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/293
and Math Projects at
http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/6423
People have been adding to the math gallery (though I have had to remove a few off-topic projects) but no one has added to the Names Projects recently.
If you haven't done a name project yet, try it---it's lots of fun! And post it to the Names Projects gallery.
The Harry Potter and The Deathly Gallery at http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/4296
is another good example of a themed gallery.
I agree there are massive gallerys that nobody looks through that are full of anything thing good ideas planet x (-=

I think the most important thing of all is time. I mean I did everything else now I just gotta wait.
Andthe the massive galleries are SUCH a bore - no topic and stupid games. I just put my games in so they fit in one more gallery lol. But I like the really specific ones alot more.
Yay it's my first post:)

Ugh, i dont do publicity stunts. i just let the publicity come to my projects. I mean, i got 18 comments in just 2 days! As maker said, the most important thing is time!

I had the same problem. I tried to befriend people, but it didn't work. I would make games with good sprites, like spriters resource. Just google it. The better the game looks, the more than likely views youll have
1) Thanks! I Never Knew That

There are a few ways to get more visibility for your projects:
1. Tags. Projects that are tagged are easily found not only from Scratch members but also I've found that other websites link to groups of projects tagged in Scratch.
2. Comment on other people's projects. If you comment and give constructive feedback to others people tend to click on your username and look at your projects and even post comments. Do not respond to mean and negative comments though, just ignore those.
3. Find people with similar interests. People with specific and similar interests tend to look at each others projects more. For example, if you like to make projects about "chocolate cookies" (just an example) then find people who make projects about the same topic or about "cookies" or "food". Then you can even create projects together. This leads sometimes to having galleries as a place to share this common interests.
3.1 Galleries are good, but only specific ones!. I have seen people creating galleries where they invite people to put "anything". These galleries are not useful because they tend to grow so much, become too crowded and without any specific direction. Smaller galleries with very specific topics are better.
4. Get your friends from real life (school or from your neighborhood) to use Scratch and participate on the Scratch website. It's very likely that if they are friends in real life they will look at your projects more often.
5. Use sprites made by others. For example, MyRedNeptune and other people have created galleries where you can ask them to draw something for you so you can use it in your projects. They are great artists and programmers who can help you create really cool projects. You can use some of their sprites or ask them for some new ones and I am sure they will go and see what you made with those sprites.
6. Be patient and don't seek fame for the sake of fame. Creating projects is first and most importantly something you should make because you like it not only because you want to be famous or to get a lot of people's attention. With time, your projects will get better and better and you'll see you'll get more attention and friends who will look at your projects.
Anyway, these are just some tips that I just thought about. I hope they are useful. Maybe you can create a project describing this tips? ;-)
Thanks a lot for posting your concern, it made me think about this topic and I like to think about things like that![]()

Tags, you could put some tags on that people are more likely to search.

Actually you should probably NOT do that. Some people tag their projects with "art" "animation" "music" "game" "simulation" and "story". Personally, I think that's sort of like spamming, except you're spamming the tags page.

Listen, it doesnt matter if you have popular projects or not. It only matters if you have good projects. If you have good projects then nothing else matters. But if you really want your projects to be popular, you have to get your projects featured. You have to make a project that is totally original and takes you a long time to make. If it gets featured then people will look at it and it will get to Top Viewed or Top Loved or Top Downloaded. But just listen to me, it really doesnt matter. check out my projects, they are not increadably good, but they are good enough for me.
Yeah, your'e right.

But What if your project was "original" but was also violent, I've haven't seen alot of projects about fighting or shooting

These are great tips! By the way, I don't know why people don't view your projects. Their awesome!

For me, I made a project that was a Make-Your-Mark-And-Pass-It-On-type project, so that it is much more critical that other people see it. I made a gallery specifically for [Make-Your-Mark-And-Pass-It-On] projects, but mostly I've added very well-known projects, just because other projects are, well, not as well known, so I haven't actually even known about them yet. Unfortuanately, my project only has 1 remix so far... I think that my projects are at least as good as the ones making the front page, and I have Never, Ever been on the front page other than in latest projects.
