Just download some one else's project change it then upload it. The site will credit the original creator and the project will be listed as a remix of the original project.
This answer is not informative enough! You should add if you should click "Open" or "Save"! ;(

Sorry, I was concerned about other users who are trying to find out how, and I lost my cool. Sorry.

I dont want to get viruses. do i have to download it?
Hey IcyDragon, you will need to download someone else's project to remix it. Rest assured, there are no viruses in Scratch projects on the site.

Moderator Summary:
When you download a project, change the scripts, and then upload the project, it is automatically tagged by the Scratch software as a remix.I've seen a lot of people making remixes of other's projects-but I don't know how to do that! I want to give people credit if I use something from one of their projects-as in their avatar and a link to their project...but I have no idea how.
When you download the project, change it up, and re-upload it, it automatically says, right under your username and avatar, "based on_______'s project". It also shows their avatar picture, a link to their stuff, and a link to their original project. If this doesn't happen for some reason, or you want to give them more credit, just write their username in the project notes and make a link to their project.
Hope this helps!

you download someone's project and open it in scratch, and then edit it and share it! it's a great way to learn how to do new things...
