Greenflash: Hi RobotKitty, I see you have quite a few dragons in your signature. What hooked you?
Robotkitty:Well, I at first disliked these "Dragon eggs" And though they were weird. When I got my first egg, A purple egg, and it hatched I was so excited. That feeling was great so I now continue.
Greenflash: So, which site is the best site, in your opinion, for dragons?
Robotkitty:Well, Dragon cave is probably most simple and and more popular.
Greenflash: Looking at signatures, they're only four dragons in anyone's signature. Is it possible to fit any more?
Robotkitty:Well Greenflash, If you want your codes to work and display the correct information you can only fit 4, If you just want the pictures you can fit 5.
Greenflash: How do you feel about the dragon-posting threads? Too many? Too few? Too crowded?
Robotkitty:Well there is only 3 so not too many, They are great threads and "Dragon egg hatchery" Is probably the most popular. I always chat with my fellow hatcher, Nikkiperson2, On the thread and we keep everyone posted on what dragons/eggs/hatchling we have.
Greenflash: The red hatchling in your signature caught my eye. Can you tell me about your current dragons?
Robotkitty: Well Robotkitty's egg farm (What i like to call my scroll) is currently full of hatchlings. The five 5 hatchlings are all showing signs of maturity, When they grown thier wings. I currently have 5 full-grown dragons ranging from a Albino to a Geode and to a Vine dragon.
Greenflash: What is the one most important thing about owning dragons?
Robotkitty:For most people the most important thing is CLICKS! Well not for me. The most important thing about owning dragons is helping other Eggs/hatchlings in need and keeping your own hatchlings and eggs alive.
Greenflash: Any last thoughts?
Robotkitty:Why not get your own dragon eggs today at the Dragon cave?
Nice!

The official colors are lightgreen and lightskyblue. If that's not possible, I like cyan.

You should make this newspaper using blogger, because you can get a lot better look from it and more features. I'll post up a preview if you want to see what it could look like.

Blogger is a good choice.
If you are able to create 3 issues of the newspaper and you demonstrate that you have the ability to keep it running (or pass it to other people to run it when you're busy)... I'd be happy to create a blog with a .scratch.mit.edu name, like newspaper.scratch.mit.edu and to feature it on the front page.
Some of the challenges you might need to figure out are: how to deal conflicts in a peaceful manner and how to be include people with different interests (gamers, animators, etc).
Scratch on!

ASCII Art
A few weeks ago, I came across a thread by filo5, called ASCII Art: Rate and Create. The images I came across were amazing. For example:
. oooo o8o .o. .o8 `888 `"' 888 .o888oo 888 .oo. oooo .oooo.o 888 888 888P"Y88b `888 d88( "8 Y8P 888 888 888 888 `"Y88b. `8' 888 . 888 888 888 o. )88b .o. "888" o888o o888o o888o 8""888P' Y8P
WOW! I would never be able to make something like that! (and trust me, I still can't) But that's when I noticed the link in filo5's post. It was an ASCII text generator. It taught me a few things, like basic text drawing types.
The only downside is that in order to post these works of art, they have to be in code. Thats:
[*code] Art here [*/code]
(remove the stars)
But come on, it's great! You can have 3-D, illusions.... It's worth it.
Visit the generator here!

Nikkiperson's Interview with Andresmh:
Nikki:What inspired you and the other creators of scratch to make a programming language?
Andresmh: Scratch is inspired by many years of working on technologies for kids and novices. Some inspirations were Logo, E-Toys, our work with LEGO in the creation of Mindstorms and other projects like that. Our group thought that it was time to create a new programming environment that was more connected to kid's current interests, so media manipulation was key (images, sounds, etc). Later we introduce the social component (the website).
N:Who created the Scratch Cat?
A:We had a cat as the mascot from the very beginning, but it was not the same as the one we had now, it was drawn from above actually. We decided we wanted a new mascot so we asked some artists to draw different options, Gobo was a strong contender. There were also other cats. I really liked the current one because it looked like it came from a Japanese videogame, which I thought people would like.
N:Did you think that this many people would use it?
A:I wasn't sure. I was hoping a lot of people would use Scratch but I don't think I imagined it would be that many people, it came as a surprise, especially at the beginning when we got a lot of attention from the media.
N:What are ‘scratch boards’ and what they do?
A:A Scratch Board is a device with sensors that connects to the USB of a computer. People can use the values of the sensors using the blocks in the sensor category. It comes with sensors for: light, sound, resistance, a button and a slider. People can create their own remote controls using this. It's really cool! My friend Amon is writing his thesis on this topic because he helped create the Scratch Board.
N: Scratch just recently reached half a million projects. How long do you think it will be before the one millionth project?
A:I think it might take 8 months... I don't know, we'll see
