my sound doesn't work!!! plz help!!!

I don't know why but  i can't import music from MY DOCUMENTS or DESKTOP i have know idea why. its there when i go into my documents but its not there when i go on import sounds plz can you help me with this problem by telling me why it doesn't work.

It could be that scratch doesn't support the file format for your sound. Try converting it.
