Band Hero.

Band Hero is an upcoming rhythm game, developed for the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Nintendo DS. It is created by the same people who created Guitar Hero.

The console versions of the game are compatible with all Guitar hero and Rock Band equipment, and have 65 songs playable. Extra songs can aslo be imported from Guitar Hero World Tour's downloadable content, and some on disc songs from World Tour and Guitar Hero Smash Hits (Greatest hits for European Players).
The Nintendo DS version uses the guitar grip used in Guitar Hero On Tour for the guitar gameplay. It also has a new Drum Grip, which fits over the buttons on the DS. Finally, vocals can also be played by using the DS mic. Players can play in a band of up to 4 players, with any combination of instruments (4 people singing, if thats what floats your boat). The game will include 30 of the songs from the console versions.
The game is said to include "Mainstream acts", according to MSNBC.
The named songs on the game so far are:
"ABC" Jackson 5
"Dirty Little Secret" The All-American Rejects
"Just a Girl" No Doubt
"Love Story" Taylor Swift [3]
"Picture to Burn" Taylor Swift
"Take What You Take" Lily Allen
"Thnks fr th Mmrs" Fall Out Boy (This song is the only song definitely on the DS version of the game, as it was discovered through a picture of someone playing the vocals to it on the DS. The lyrics appear on screen)
"You Belong With Me" Taylor Swift
In addition to the tracks above, songs from Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, KT Tunstall, Maroon 5, Snow Patrol, Fall Out Boy and The Killers will also be on the disc. The specific songs have not been named yet.

Re: Band Hero.

Note how all the songs aren't from any real classic rock bands. I'm not buying this.

Band Hero was meant to have a different set of songs from the general classic rock you see on the likes of Guitar Hero, to attract a different audience.
All the songs on this are mainstream top 40 hits. It was a sensible choice to use them instead of all the old classics, as they are then attracting the game to the people who vote in the charts. Another thing to note is that classic rock isn't the most popular genre of rock to the majority of todays young people, whom the game is aimed at.

But the best rock is unargueably classic rock. You have some the most famous, popular, and powerful bands in history, including:

Aerosmith
Led Zeppelin
Guns N' Roses
AC/DC
Jethro Tull
Bon Jovi
Deep Purple
Boston
Metallica
Black Sabbath/ Ozzy Osbourne
Iron Maiden
and hundreds more.

But personally, I'm looking more forward to GH5.

That is your opinion. Classic rock was the best in it's era, but that era has passed. Punk rock, emo and grunge are far more dominant nowadays.
I personally prefer emo bands such as All-American Rejects and Paramore. I'm looking forward to GH 5 as well, and to this. I'm going to get them both.
I havent seen GH 5's tracklist though, so I have no idea what I'm going to want more.

Some oh these bands are still around and making music. Aerosmith has been around for nearly 40 years now and they are currently on tour AND making a new album. Sure those bands were the best in their time (hence "Classic" Rock). Actually, back 30-40 years ago, they were considered Metal bands. Compare that to the Metal bands we have today!

I don't think it's really fair for me to do the comparing, seens as I would compare Three Days Grace to all the bands you've mentioned and say that they're better. That line of thinking becomes far too opinionated for anyone to really make a fair unbiased statement. Lets just leave it that different people have different tastes in music.  smile
