Oldschooler2, I think you may be over simplifying what Keven said.  Consideration for moderator normally isn't just about post count, but maturity, participation, and ability to follow rules.  The more you post and participate the easier it is to judge the merits of an individual by reading those past posts.

i) that's completley the wrong attitude I mean a forum moderator is meant to HELP people
ii) You need to comment a lot otherwise you're not helping are you
iii) you might even have commented on posts that are show and tell ones and not actually help people

Hi! Congrats to MyRedNeptune, Jens and kevin_karplus on becoming mods!
I'd like you (or rather andresmh, whoever 'makes the mods'), to perhaps consider me as a potential future mod (I don't mean to sound, I dunno... stuck-up or bragging or something), I've been doing my best to help around the forums and because I speak French (fluently, I've been in France for 18 months and go to school there) I would be able to help any french users (I'm sure there'll be more soon!).

can I maybe be one? I am not to to great but I have helppedc this one kid called logan966 or something like that, I have alot of help progects that teach people how to do things. Speaking of how 2 progects, maybe ardchmage could be one? I don't care if you say yes or no, even though I am not an official moderator, I will do my best to do what they do!

Well, I can tell you that you ain't got no chance of being a mod if you type like that... Heh heh heh, I like being evil! midnightleopard, perhaps try posting lots of advice on the forums, you could make some really good projects, and that kind of thing and you might become a mod
