here are some things that the canadian or american legal system has missed out on
1. it is ok to own an R4 or R4I but it is illegal to sell one
2. you can view a video that is not legally yours and is even still in theatres online, but you cannot post or download it.
post other exceptions like this

IIRC, here on Chile (and Spain I think) you can own a ROM of a game you don't own to try it out for up to 24 hours. It's only legal to own this ROM for more time to use it as a backup.
The R4 is good for homebrew, like the homebrew games I usually try out, and the Gameboy Color emulator (I don't know much about this, but I guess it's legal here to emulate a console that isn't selling anymore, as long as you don't get profit from it) I have on my R4.

haha lol
also you can get r4's online still people still sell them, just secretly and i dont want to sound racist but seeing as it was made in somewhere in asia any of the r4's that are in stores instead of online aren't often sold to those who are not asian. unless you go with your asian friend. im not tryin to sound racist or anything, but its actually true.

there's this really cool site, I can't remember the address, but they sell all sorts of cool things, like lasers in tons of colors (including green, red, purple, and yes even blue)
, but they also sell the R4 there

Why would they sell it only to asians? Epic fail.

because some of the shop owners dont trust the other people, they have to be careful they are selling something illegal after all

To clear everyone up on the subject:
An R4 is a flashcard that fits into your DS which you can play downloaded games (Which you havent paid for) on. It's technically illegal to produce these with the intent to sell them, though I think if you've bought one and then got bored of it you can sell it on Ebay. It is not illegal to own them, though Nintendo put specific things on prominent releases to try prevent them from working. All the updates you get from certain Wii games are an effort to stop homebrew.
