I have an idea (I think)

I used to coach high school sports in NYC.  Wait.  I need to say that MIT is world reknowned and synonymous with genius, so I kinda feel its a treat to be able to post here or give some minor input.  Kudos to all who make SCRATCH what it is.  Now back to coaching high school sports.  I created a sports website back in 1998 with video of baseball, basketball, football, etc for students, teachers and parents to see.  Unfortunately, the city of NY residents didn't have an interest in high school sports much like a city like Altamonte Springs, Fl or Spartanburg, SC does have.

I believe that an interactive tool with basic sports principles such as leadership, team and relationship building could be incorporated into a scratch project.

I am working in the legal field now and I believe a scratch project making a simple foray into this field for youngsters would be invaluable, particularly in the urban areas.  Now having a website may not be the most useful because how many youngsters are thinking about wills and trusts but having a simplistic constitutional SCRATCH project would be most useful and I believe, popular.  i for one would love to be involved in each of these undertakings as I have access to 60 high school coaches in nyc, developers and an equal amount of legal resources.<play drum(  )for(  )secss><play drum(  )for( 8 )secss>

Re: I have an idea (I think)

Since my last post, I indicated I was in the legal field but I have since moved to online search with a company which makes high voltage power supplies for such devices as CT scan machines and xray devices.  I thought about how what they do can be incorporated into Scratch (by the way, I am coming to the Scratch conference in July) and since MIT is the premier in technology, I think this would be a great fit.  I think a simple Scratch application showing simple electrical problems and safety issues in the home would be a pretty good Scratch game and practical application.  [edited by Jens: removed a link to an external ad] Let me know your thoughts on if this is something to pursue or back to the drawing board.

Re: I have an idea (I think)

texmester, you seem to be blessed with a wide variety of professionally exploitable talents. How about (just) creating and posting a Scratch project and discussing it in the "Show and tell" section of the forums? I'm sure we'll get a better idea of what your current idea (you think) might be ...
