Re: scratch police? are you serious....

Technically, we can all be 'Scratch Police' by flagging inappropriate things. I would just prefer to look at a project, think carefully about my reasons, and do my flagging in silence. There's just no point in joining a group and suddenly spurting out names of suspected people because that only invites trouble rather than help.

Re: scratch police? are you serious....

but those scratch police think that they have authority over other people. They think they can bully other's sometimes, just because they think they are "scratch police".

Re: scratch police? are you serious....

All we (I've joined it) do is when we find an inaproppiate project, we flag it and tell the other Scratch Police about it then they flag it. Also, when someone starts bulling someone, we try to stop the bully.

u dont need to be in the scratch police to flag someone.. they didnt make scratch to go around looking for troublemakers... they made it to have fun and upload projects!

Posting about who you flag invites defamation, shame, and brings on the threat of unnecessary flame wars. I read over the Scratch Police gallery comments, and I found a conversation regarding one person in which she was flagged, but then a later comment saying that the person might be innocent. I do not know the whole story, whether or not the person is innocent or ought to be banned, so I am not picking sides here, but using the Contact Link to report a person would have been the wiser choice in this case: the Contact Us link is more direct and faster, you can fully explain the situation, give examples, and the Scratch Team can them fully assess the person's activities and determine if they ought to be banned or if they're innocent.

I am aware that a certain threshold of flags gets a project removed from the website, but, in my opinion, I would prefer to have few flags done in silence with full, logical reasons (or in more extreme cases, use the Contact Link to alert the Scratch Team of one's inappropriate projects altogether) and have its fate decided by a group of people with the tenacity to make such deductions, rather than a whole bunch of empty flags and cause one person's downfall without knowing the full story behind it.

If you guys honestly think that your method works better than silent flagging and using the Contact Us link, I am not stopping you. As for me, I'd rather keep with my silent flagging and Contact Us link, because I cannot live with a guilty conscience if I bring about false slander and vilification by exposing a person in public.

OH NOES!!

I don't like them. Real police stop criminals and save lives. These guys... they have the worst "holier than thou" attitude since McCain08 (cringe). What gives them the right to go around and persecute people on whims? That's right: absolutely nothing!! Who do these people think they are?

Re: scratch police? are you serious....

I'm not saying that all the Scratch Police are bad, some are nice, but apparently they harrassed some guy named Kaj so much for having one bad project that he actually turned bad and now he's like causing chaos on Scratch

Meh, typos in my name is irrelevant in this case.

Although, I have to say, in pinochio's case, a simple misspelling could have almost caused chaos. (I hope you didn't suffer too much false accusation under the hands of the 'Scratch Police').
