I need help making a sonic type of game, i have the sprites.

i'm makin' my own sonic seriese and the main charictor's name is trevor. but i can't figure out the spripst for it, and i don't wanna remix, becuase people took time to make theirs but they know how to make them. so van anyone give me a classic sonic game that they made so i can remix it, with permission?
