Hiding and showing variables online
I uploaded a project and when you click on the background two variables are supposed to alternate showing and hiding, and neither of them show at all. It's in my gallery. http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/52784

There's a known bug with Hide/Show variables in the Java Player. If the variable is not showing when it is shared, it won't work. The work-around is to make sure the variable is showing when it's shared. You can then hide it quickly as the project starts up and it might work okay.
