i think there should be something on the homepage called Scratch_Inc. .it is where there are huge important annocements.it will give you the latest news not coming only from scratch team but a large group of people.(you have to subscribe to it if you want to give the cool things you found on scratch and the scratch team will pick the best subjects and topics)
it will be on the homepage as i said.
