DeviantArt like...? (without all the bad in it...)
I think they should make a system that alerts when your friends are on and possibly send PM to your friends. This would make rpging on galleries somuch easier and telling your friends to rpg and what not.

Scratch will not have private messaging, and it is unlikely they will ever implement a private messaging system due to the many cons that outweigh the benefits.
The alert system that allows for users to determine when a user is online or offline has been suggested many times. Right now, I have no idea whether or not this idea will be implemented.
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your life is at ease
