Everybody knows how there are game, movies, and book ratings right? Since projects can be all of those there could be Scratch Raters. Kind of like how they choose forum moderators. They can choose from these ratings:
All ages
10+
Teenagers
18+
or something similar. Then below Scratch Raters could type there reasons of why, truthfully. Maybe not to restrict younger users though, which is my you right your reasons. So then if I user younger can take it, they may still use the project. Schools have people swearing in them now, some do anyway. I hear the older kids swear, even though I wouldn't be watching a project and there shouldn't be a project with swearing I could take it. What do you think Scratch community?

i agree with coolstuff, but that doesnt mean i neccesarily am against the idea in general. i think it would still work if you just had lower ratins like E, E10 and T, and maaaaybe M but i dunno.

I believe there was discussion about something like this before, but the idea was rejected because more mature ratings could just be used as an excuse to create projects that go against the Scratch policy.

Not to say that some stuff is totally rejected. There seems to be some degree of what and what cannot be on the website, a 'not for everyone'-rating of sorts (for lack of a better term ). (For an in depth discussion about this, check out the following link to a forum page, a discussion over violent projects between me and a Scratch Team member: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=14210&p=2)

Why would you rate it? Personally I think it's a waste of time because most people ignore ratings. Or at least almost everybody I know.

I disagree with this idea, mainly do to the fact that almost every single person on Scratch is below the age of 16
The rest are like either teachers or adults

Scratch projects are supposed to be suitable for all ages. Having ratings would probably lead to some trouble, and anyway Blade-Edge is right:
