I made an animation on my computer with 489 frames and when I tried to upload it to Scratch(the application) The .gif file I had saved it as showed up as a blank icon. When I clicked upload it, nothing happened. Please tell me why this is happening. By the way, I know it's not the size; I couldn't upload a .gif file I made with only 24 frames into Scratch. The only way I can seem to get it on Scratch is to upload individual frames one by one. I am REALLY not anxious to do that 489 times.
I am using a Mac running OS 10.5.6. Here is what it looks like:
How do you upload a screenshot to here?

I haven't done a whole lot with animated GIF's but the one or two I worked with worked okay...I just dragged them from my desktop and dropped them on an open Scratch project and they were automatically separated into costumes.
You can also do the drag and drop approach with individual images...select a whole group of them and drop them on an open Scratch project. It really speeds up the importation project.

Drop them on an existing sprite...or on the costumes area of an existing sprite. Or drop them on the backgrounds area of the stage.
