and I wish they could add the mesh again, just as a hidden feature. like shift-click "share" or something and it will be included as a choice in the menu, to enable it. or that you have to hack it or something somehow to get it, or they could release a version where it is enabled. then the new scratch users don't have to worry about it!!
What is mesh? I have heard about it before, but I don't really know what it is.

Just to tell the Scratch team, Scratch 1.4 beta works very well. One suggestion that should be considered: lists should have "hide list ()" and "show list ()". Those windows can get a bit annoying if you do not want them in a certain area at a certain point in the project. Just a suggestion.

The beta is available for download on the first page of this thread. The finished one will be available on the Scratch website.

I would like to hear from the Scratch team about the mesh feature. When can we expect it to be re-implemented? What are it's limitations? How will we have to change our project to make it work with 2+ people?

The mesh feature MIGHT be readded in scratch 1.5 but I'm not in the scratch team.

They are late - shame they have stooped to the ranks of Microsoft!
No need to start name-calling
Yes, it appears that the official release date is slipping a bit. I wonder why...maybe some new bugs were reported that need to be swatted?

I *think* they are the same, but I am not sure. Scratch 1.4 is nearly ready - you can get to the soon to be download page by just manipulating URL's (http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Scratch_1.4_Download)

Sorry if this is against any rules, but I found Scratch 1.4 (not Release Candidate)
http://download.scratch.mit.edu/ScratchInstaller1.4.exe
But this is RC:
http://download.scratch.mit.edu/ScratchInstaller1.4rc.exe
So this is either an unnamed beta, or the real deal!

If you've installed this version...what version number and build date does it give when you run it? I know the 1.4 official release is supposed to be any day now...you have probably found the installer for it. But I personally would hold off for the announcement before putting it on my system, since there might be last minute updates

It was Scratch 1.4 of June 30, 2009 (if any bugs are found, and a newer edition comes out, do I get bragging rights about having a special version of 1.4 [in between RC and official])
(also, I still have Scratch 1.0.1, 1.1, 1.2., 1.2.1, 1.3, 1.3.1, and NetScratch instaleld in a custom directory to mess around with, just in case there are any huge bugs.)
