Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

About the part leading directly to comments, all I can say is:

AWESOME! It's so much easier and faster to respond and view comments now!

Curator: One who manages or oversees, as the administrative director of a museum collection or a library (website source: http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/curator)

In this case, a SCRATCH curator is someone who can showcase his/her favorites to appear on the front page.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

I'm just getting used to the single comment thread, but it might be useful to be able to delete the message that sent you there from the single comment thread location. Just an idea.

For example:
Look at messages
Click on link
Read bare comment
Delete message from there once you're done.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

How bout instead of showing just one comment, Instead of saying " your project * has recieved a new comment by *" it would say " You have (number) messages on your project *"

What do you think? Sorry if you don't understand. I just don't like the idea of only looking at one comment. I want to see all the comments because sometimes I get multiple comments on a project and I think it would be better if I could just see all the new comments.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

I noticed there is no more newest projects on the homepage. Also the curators clickable name is no longer clickable. We can see our friends projects on our account. How cool! Nice work andresmh! big_smile
*EDIT*Newest projects is back. Maybe my browser had a problem? Anyway good job!

Yeah, Newest projects only appears if you're logged in.

Thanks I didn't know that! I was used to seeing it all the time even if I was logged out.

You can always click "Show all comments" to go to the project. For the most part, it's good so the page doesn't take longer to load something you don't need to say and so the rest of the Scratch website will be faster.

Isn't that off-topic? Back to topic... I love the changes. It all fits and optimizes the website to be easier to use.

The scratch team said this is the reason they did that "We are now showing the Newest projects section of the front page only after people are logged in. Since we allow only members of our community to flag projects, we think that non-members should not be presented with this category to reduce the chances of showing projects that do not represent the values of our community ". Epic! big_smile

Hmm, I just noticed that. Maybe they got rid of it? Or maybe a glitch? I can't see thumbnails of my friends projects on my userpage either.
