I love everything! Thank you Andres.  smile

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

Really like it, but as I said in another topic:

The only problem with this update is that random people add me, although I don't add them, but I still have to see their newest projects, even though they aren't in my friends list. I find this quite annoying to be honest, because I don't care about random peoples projects, I care only about the projects of my friends who I have added.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

Great!

My "My Stuff" page now shows 100 pages of "Friends' recent projects" so scaling down might be a good idea.

The comment direct link doesn't seems to work for me yet, before it said
"http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/JSO/15804?comment={comment_id}" in the address bar when I clicked one of my messages, now it says
"http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/JSO/15804?comment=" doesn't seems to be right.

Also it just shows the project as usual, while when I scroll down the comment is there.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

About the blog's new layout, maybe you should show the index of the blog at the top of each page (on top of the flickr, twitter and youtube blocks), it's quite annoying to scroll down just to find another article. Anyways, Nice  big_smile

I think it's only for people who you have added.

@Andres: Great idea! I love every new addition!

No, because I'm seeing projects from princeeric, even though they aren't on my friends list.

Lol, the friend thing thinks i'm friends with keroro645, and keroro645 never added me to his/her friends and I never did to. (I an reletively friendly with keroro645 though so maybe I should add him/her  tongue )
There are definite glitches with this feature...  hmm

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

Do you think you could change the "recent projects by my friends" to only be by people on your own friends list? There are a lot of people who have added me as their friend who I am not following to this point, so I constantly see project by people who I have never heard of in that section...

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

As for the single comment thread, which I just saw, instead of approaching it the way you have, instead it might be a good idea to go to the actual project and have some kind of automatic scrolling down to the comment in question.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

The only projects in the Friend's project's are Doody's. And she isn't even on my friend list. It's like doody has a private front page section. Please remove it or change it so it is only MUTUAL friendships.

As you have realized, there's a bug on the list of projects shared by friends. We'll be fixing it soon.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

Here are my thoughts on the changes:

For some reason there are now only two projects in top downloaded, not sure what that means or if it is related to the changes.

I am not really in favor of the my friends recent projects being on the front page, you can see that easily from your mystuff page.

In the my friends recent projects section I think it should be only people you have on your friends list instead of everybody who has ever added you or maybe an option to only view these, it makes it hard to see what your closest friends have just created.

The changes to newest projects seem good and surprise projects from scratch design studio seems good but it should be at the bottom, good idea to do something better with surprise projects.

I like the feature that allows you to click on a message and see only one comment but I would like to also be able to see and use the project.

Sorry if I have been to critical, just thought you might want some feedback.

Re: Recent changes to our web site (may 2009)

I have a good idea for a future update. You don't have to do this now. For the front page, you could shift where each of the pieces would go, and which would show up. That way, people would put what they wanted to see first near the top, and so on. This would also more or less extinguish accusations of front page dominating, as if you don't like it, you could take it down. Come to think of it, this would make a good thread for "suggestions", but oh well.

We're trying to avoid the loading of the Java applet and all the information about the project. Since most likely you have already seen the project (in the majority of cases it would be your own project) I think not showing all the info about the project is a good idea. It also helps reduce the load on our server not present all the extra information.

The direct links to only the comments should take effect only on comments you receive after we made the changes. Older messages are still linking to the full project page.

I went to the link, and may I be a curator? I especially like rule #4! Also, for #2, I found someone I didn't know in the Friend's Latest Projects.
