Can you please say why you would want to become a curator, and what you will do if you become a Curator. All these things including behavior in the scratch community will factor if you become a curator or not.

Hi there! I would love to be a curator because I love projects that are fun for all ages. Some games, like Cube World, are just amazing and never get old. But I know of plenty of newer projects that are chalk full of potential. I'e been a part of Scratch for about 2 years, and I would love to share people's creativity with others. Also, I am totally ipartial, soo you can rest assured that I will be totally fair. Thanks everyone!

Can I be a curator?

Wow! It's great that there is so much excitement about this feature!
I want to answer a few of the questions raised in this thread.
If I become curator, can I display my own projects?
We'd prefer that curators show projects made by other members of the Scratch Community rather than their own work.
How will I know if I'm picked to be the curator?
When we pick a new curator, we'll notify them through the message system. (The same place where you are notified when someone leaves a comment on one of your projects.)
Please be patient! Each curator will have about two weeks, so that means there will be only 26 curators per year.

I would very much like to be a curator. I like my opinion on the page. (Not that I have favorites.) But I still like those pretty old games but still aren't viewed.

Look. Me, I love the games. It's not the artwork, which is still good, it's not the animations, which are still good too, but it's the games. Anyway, latley i haven't been making many games, because i am fresh out of ideas. however, if i am made curator, i'll make sure that everybody gets a chance to play the best games on scratch. With me as curator, i'll make the games be the thing that people will see. and i'll try to make them all different in a special way, so people can have a variety of game consepts.

Thanks for the information. I found it very helpful. So, watch the message system, got it.

Well, I could be curator.
I have taste in good projects and there are some hidden gems out there too that are really cool, but scratchers prefer to look at the more popular users' projects. Exposing these awesome-but-not-viewed-much projects to the front page may have scratchers taking a liking to the hiddens users talent.
Ok, i really donrt know how I came up with that, but pick me for curator.

I know everyone would like to be a curator, but I would too :3 I'm not sure if it's been picked permanently to be Cheddargirl or not; I feel this is an excellent idea to get great unnoticed projects featured.

What if the current "curator" picks a violent project? It'd be shown off on the frontpage for about a week...
You're right! They would just be reported and then the person who made that project would get reported!

Flagged, not reported
But yep, that's exactly what would happen.

Sounds like another great update ^3^ I would very much like to apply.
If I were a Scratch Curator, I would feature projects that feature user art and drawing how-to's. (Knowing me, these would normally fall into the Japanese Manga-style Category.) I think this would give aspiring artists on Scratch a chance to show the community their art (because it is difficult for people to discover your Scratch account unless you're on the front page!) and would give others an easier way of finding tutorials. I would, of course, leave out violent and/or gory projects.
Question: Would Curators receive an email or message telling them what day they'll have to be Curator-y? Will they have more than one cycle as a Curator?

Yes, he is right. You are not supposed to pick your own projects, your friend's projects, or projects that have stuff you like in them, you are supposed to pick projects that are well programmed.
