But if you get the job, you would just curate you own projects, and that would be unfair.
You can't say that for sure. But still, that's barely a speech.

Hello. Can I be a scratch curator please? I love, not just games, all kinds of projects which people spend and take their time on, and the project came out really good! A scratch curator once curated one of my projects so it's on the front page! I was soo busy on scratch 2.0 i didn't realise that one of my projects got featured until 2-3 days later? So please, can I be a scratch curator? If so then my dream would come true! ~ magicpotatoes2

I would like to apply for curator because I believe it would be a great opportunity for me and the Scratch Community. I have been helping people with scripts in the forums, and I have been posting constructive criticism on other people's projects to make sure they get the benefit of my help for their project-whatever the project it may be. Games, animations, stories, educational slide shows, and more! I'm not too picky when it comes to curating, and I want to give unknown Scratchers with a talented ability a chance to have a spot in the limelight.
I also think curating is important, and that the unknown Scratchers benefit from their project being curated, and greatly enjoy it. I know I did when I was curated! Anyway, without the curated section, Scratchers with great abilities who are unknown, would be very sad without the curator.
Some examples of projects I would curate are shown below. Some are well-known,and some are older, but I would show less known projects to the public, that are fresh from the community.
Games:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/kittyflier/3000357 I chose this project because of how much effort went into it, and the hard work really shows. The game is enjoyable and fun to play, and the Scratch community would enjoy it.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/richjones69/3108799 I chose this project as an example because the game is next to glitch-free, and is a good example of hard work and effort, though the Scratcher is well known.
Animations:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/GriaMolar/3116632 This project has great timing and hard work put into it
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MrPikachu/3145684 This animation is very smooth and has a lot of effort into it. It is well known though.
Interactive Projects:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/zevbo/3033423 This project went unnoticed by the Community, and I have no idea why. It's form is perfect in its own way, and no one has seen it.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SFollis/3014118 This project is simple but fun to play with, because of it's ingenuity.
P.S.-Thanks to pokemongardevoir, because I went off of her speech, and made mine!
P.P.S- Even though some of those Scratcher's are my friends, that is not why I picked those projects. I did because I thought they were great examples of the projects I would curate.
P.P.P.S.-Please consider me. I put a lot of time and effort into thinking up this speech, and I want to benefit the Scratch Community.

I really like games with a "Mario" theme. I like how you dodge things, how difficult the levels are, how there are enemies or foes trying to defeat you. I like brain games where you have to think of the situation before you do a specific thing. Some examples of thes games are http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/theChAOTiC/3165368 , http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/ET-PHONE-HOME-_-/3164911 and http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SupremeAvenger/3164941 . I really think these are some pretty good games, but not very many people view them. Maybe a scratch curator could curate them.

Hi! I'm going to give this a try. I've got no chance, but at least I can say I've attempted to be curator! Okay, here I go:
I've been on Scratch for nearly two years now and I've always enjoyed surfing newest for amazing projects. I'll usually favorite those and come back a little while later, only to see that they have about 3 views. I really think that there are many unknown Scratchers out there who deserve a chance to be on the front page. It's not only about popularity, but being on that front page can boost morale and make you feel better about yourself, too.
Now, about projects I'd curate:
I've always had a weakness for platformers and scrolling games. I especially love "create-a-something" games that are the perfect mixture of scripting and coding, and provide hours of entertainment.
Thanks for reading! Even if I don't get the job, this was a lot of fun to write ;D

Can I be curator? I see tons of good projects every week that have 14 views. I will put somewhat unique stuff on the front page.
Mostly, I will curate games. But if I see a really good animation then that's worthy too.

Wouldn't it be better if there were two or three curators at the same time so there would be more curating and more people can become curator easier?
I don't support. Because if all the same projects were on at the same time.

I am not trying to be mean, but you shouldn't be like "PLEASE SEE MY STUFF THERE AWESOME" because that is against the community guidelines.

I am interested in becoming curator. if I were curator, I would curate projects without many veiws, or projects I enjoy and that I think other scratchers would like. I hope yo take this sereously, and possibly let me be a curator.

Hi, my name is Supermon, also known as Red-Spike and i would like to apply for curator. I joined scratch about a year ago and soon found out about curators. I noticed a pattern.Sometimes(not always but sometimes), people will get projects curated or on the front page in some other way, and everybody thinks the projects are really good. But then i find a similar project,(usually an unpopular one) that is much better and deserves to be noticed. Simply put, i would like to promote these projects if i got curator. That is all, and if you pick me i will do my best. Thank you.
Examples:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/speedyfun123/2924370
This guy is the Example for the good, but unpopular projects.
This is a quality project that this guy probably worked on for a while. Yet it doesn't even have 100 views...
Now look at the worse, but popular project:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/DragonBallZfan/2000650
it constantly annoys me how much this project is popular. and the weird thing? It doesn't seem too special. The graphics are ok, the gameplay consists of needing to press one button,(this is rhetorical, but yeah, you can just hold one button to beat this game) and i its really just another scrolling game you can run fast in.
Now decide which one is better... the good, but unpopular project or the ok but popular project. This happens on a lot of websites. the good stuff is unpopular, while the popular spot is reserved for "GREAT" stuff but is really no cut above the rest. I want to reverse this at least on scratch. That is what i would do if i were curator.
P.S.I would be very grateful if you picked me.
P.P.S.Thank you for reading my speech.
P.P.P.S.I worked really hard on it.

Hi! I was wondering if I could be a Curator. The reason I am applying is that I would like to show people the unique projects that were obviously worked on for months, yet nobody knows about them. I think I could really help gifted Scratchers. I know there are many other people who are obviously going to be the worlds best Curators, but I would like a chance to show that I can be a good Curator. I have often found "dead" peices of the internet floating around google, and scratch projects are no diffrent! I would not Curate projects with 10000 views and 1000 love-its, as that would be quite silly. I would currate projects that are interesting, unique, or I know people would enjoy if the project was known. I hope you give my application some consideration.
Thanks for reading

Second try.
I would like to be the curator. I like games and animations, but a really great art project would be ok. I always aspired to be curator. Mostly, because I'd be making people happy. That's what matters to me. I don't really care about views. I care about the community.
-These would be my limitations. They are pretty loose:
You must not have been on the front page in the past 2 months. (Top remixed doesn't count, because most coloring contests achieve that status)
-It shouldn't have excessive violence. I'm ok with a little violence, but not too much.
-You should have worked on it hard and be proud to have it viewed by the community.
-Probably no filler projects.
-No more than 30 views a project
I'd also curate projects I was not requested to curate if I really liked them, assuming they were under the view limit.
All in all, I would love to be curator. To please people, to show them I care, to increase my views, although I don't care that much. Thank you for reading this and please consider me.

Advice from a past curator:
Be kind outside and in the forums and you will have a better chance.

I think that if I were curator, I would choose projects that some one has worked hard on and DESERVE to be chosen. I am often on the Scratch website and see something really awesome, so probably a lot of people would get their projects chosen. I think that these projects are interesting because I have made some cool projects myself, but sometimes these projects are SO COOL that I want to do something kind of like it, but I don't know how. So, I download the project just to look at the script, and my mind is blown my at the sight of the huge, colorful script that I see and all the programming there is and I can only IMAGINE how much TIME that took! I would like to give those people the chance for more people to get their amazing projects chosen!
