it can't get no views - it'll have to be viewed by you! xD
And take a look at the first post for better instructions on making a curator speech.

I'd love to be a curator. I would curate projects of all types. From the basic ones to the complicated ones. I'd probably also select more projects from people that are a little less popular so they can get lots of views for once. I hope I can do it!

Interested in applying to be a Scratch curator?
We choose curators that represent the diversity of the Scratch Community - girls, boys, gamers, storytellers, animators - Scratchers of all kinds! We especially like to choose Scratchers who have been helpful and contributing members of the Scratch community.
When applying to be curator, it's good to give some thought to the kind of projects you'd like to show. "Cool projects that most people have never seen!" is a nice idea, but it doesn't really give us a good sense of what you like and why. We want to know what makes a project interesting to you.
Try viewing the projects in your favorites, and see if you can find a theme that describes them. Talk about that theme in your post on this thread, and consider providing a few links to good examples of that theme.
For example, I really like projects that use sound input from the microphone to draw interesting designs on the screen. Here's an example of one that I recently added to my favorites: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MitFan/874786
Scratch On!
I would love to be a curator. I enjoy games, but an animation once in a while makes me very happy. I enjoy going on Scratch, and I love going on the website. I sincerely hope that you'll choose me to be a curator, even though I'm not quote on quote "popular" on Scratch.
Best Wishes,

I'd like to become a curator for these reasons:
1. I want to put new projects that have a potential future of being really good.
2. The projects that appeal to all audiences.
3. I would curate three new projects a day.
4. Games, animation, and music are all game for my curating.
Please consider me,
Kevrs

You can't curate that many.
But it's good.

Hmm... A curator seems like a big responsibility. I have now been on Scratch for I think about two years now. I was around when the curating began (Though I did not have an account). Since then I have wanted to be a curator, though that doesn't sound much different then the other one-thousand applicants. I realize that the Scratch Team want's a curator that will choose projects the community would appreciate. I believe that right now people want good animations, and games based on what I have seen. I will not choose projects now, but rather stage a contest where people can enter their animations, and I might choose them. I don't know if this is the way the Scratch Team would like me to do it. And I can change the way I select projects. There would be rules to entering the contest, like, you must have had an account for a month, the projects must have less than 100 views, etc. Now let's get to the checklist.
On often: | X
Knows the Scratch community well | X
Has had an account for a year | X
Never been banned | X
I believe that I check out. Also, I have been curated. So I know how I would want it done. If there is anything I have missed please inform me. Also, the Scratch Team wants a wide variety of Scratchers. They want gamers, storytellers, animators, boys, and girls. I am a slight gamer, but a great member in the community.

~undercovergeekHey undercovergeek, there should be a "post new topic" link at the top and bottom of most forum sections that allows you to make a new thread.
Thanks a million! <3

I would like to be a curator. There are so many unrecognized scratchers AND projects out there, and I myself sometimes browse people's projects to see if there are any fun or funny projects. I would like to be a curator.

Perhaps instead of having a new curator each week, you can have them be curators forever (until they get fired...) and only require each of them to curate 1 project each week. (So a whole bunch of projects arn't curated at the same time, if you know what I mean)

+1, and the curator slot has 3 projects in it like all the rest on the Front Page.
Also, where would we have enough space for hundreds of curators?
