How can I use sprite sheets?

I'm making a game and I downloaded a sprite sheet for the main character. i have no idea of how to use the sprites when they are on the sheet.

Help?

Re: How can I use sprite sheets?

Sprite sheets are usually really huge, so you'll need to cut down that sprite sheet into smaller pictures. A simple paint program (such as Microsoft Paint) should be capable of doing this with an easy cut-and-paste job.

Then all you have to do is import the costumes when you make a sprite in SCRATCH. Hope this helps  smile

Re: How can I use sprite sheets?

yeah and when you cut it into pieces makes sure you make another place to save the sprites to.i mean like when you cut each costume out it isnt even so export every costume and then delete the old ones and import the costumes you exported earlier..hopes that makes sense...
