We have introduced a new gallery system that allows you to control who can add projects to it.
Now gallery creators can delete projects from their galleries.
Also, now you can add projects to a gallery from the project page itself or from the gallery page. Adding projects to a gallery from MyStuff seems unintuitive and it has been disabled.
We used to allow galleries to have the same name, but not anymore. The names must be unique. There were hundred of galleries with the same name so we did a quick fix: we renamed all galleries by adding a number to the end of the name. For example: a gallery called "Food" became "Food-1787". You can rename the gallery and remove the number part.
Since now you can control who can add projects to a gallery, by default all the old galleries were automatically set so that only the owner of the gallery can add projects to it. If you want to change this just go to the gallery home page and change it from there.
Please report problems with galleries.
These changes were made by Han Xu. Say thanks to Han!

good move Scratch operators!

The gallery system is a little buggy. When you try to view the galleries with the most views the amount of projects the number of projects in each gallery is wrong.

I noticed that.
By the way, If you have a good platform game, add it to my gallery, Platform games ONLY! (non-working and poor performance will be deleted, so before you add it, make sure it works!)

That still has some bugs in it. Like a lot of people said, it won't let you share a project. (Same with me). I think the gallery operation was released too soon. <when[ project]clicked> <say[ Let it into the gallery, please! <(That<=>Me happy!)>
<if> not <(Me<=>Sad)>
<say[ Plz fix it

To add projects to your gallery just go to the gallery page and click on "add my projects". If that button doesn't show up and you are not the creator of the gallery, then it means the gallery is set so only the creator can add projects to it. To change this the creator of the gallery has to change the settings.

I like it!
However, I can't save any modifications on Gallery description (and also Project notes). It's just saying 'Saving...' but nothing more. By the way, will you solve the character encoding problem? (I mean changing it to UTF-8.)

I really, really think that the default should be that anyone can add to your gallery. I think galleries are pretty pointless if only their creators can add to them so I think the default should be everyone.

Thanks for your feedback. If more people think that the default should be different then we'll change it. However, right now people can change the settings and I think we are fine with that. You can still post messages on people's galleries or create your own open to the world.

Many thanks for this great new way of using the galleries. Here at the American School of The Hague (Netherlands) we had set up a gallery for our students and were a bit disturbed when strangers joined our gallery and began posting projects. We all really appreciate the great new gallery system!
