Scratch for the DS!

I can't live without Scratch! I'm mostly busy out and about, so if we had a Scratch DS game, we could play Scratch ANYWHERE!!! Woo!!! ^0^

Re: Scratch for the DS!

Hi, all.

While I agree that being able to run Scratch projects on the Nintendo DS would be cool, there are many technical challenges. The Scratch Team currently has no plans to support a Scratch Player for gaming platforms such as the Nintendo DS or PSP.

If any of these platforms develops the ability to run the Scratch Java Applet then, of course, you could run projects right off the Scratch website. But I'm not sure how likely that is to happen.

Re: Scratch for the DS!

I think it would be great to have a Scratch DS game! Because Scratch is not as popular in the UK than it is in the USA, then it would be a brilliant idea to bring out Scratch for the DS, because that way more people will use Scratch on the internet, and people would be able to make their own DS games which later may become real. Nobody's too young to make a DS game, after all.
It would encourage people to program, just like the online Scratch, but it may be more popular on the DS (not the DSi) because a lot more people play the DS than the computer. You wouldn't need Java, you would just need to use whatever language a DS runs on, unless it runs on the same language as a computer would.
Overall, I think that it's a great idea! You could connect DS' together and play each others DS games! That would be so cool!  smile

quite likely. all the system would need is java (don't think ds has that though)

Re: Scratch for the DS!

I think there could be a dsi enhanced game card(has dsi bonuses) because the dsi has a camera. Also the dsi has dsiware, downloadable games and tools.

bye 1.4, we all loved you. but we all outgrew the site. 2.0 is a welcome change.
