Scratch

Ok Im posting some of my RPG Tips here, Im experimenting on my observations lol and putting them to the test. (if that makes sense)

When creating an RPG think very carefully if you are going to stick with the RPG. When I say stick with it keep it active and don't let the fellow Scratchers who like the RPG be disappointed. If your going to quit give the position as leader to someone else. ( I tend to start and rpg then delete it right away lol)

When you have your RPG now you have to think about what activities you will have in store. Maybe try these: Contests, Trivia, Community Playdate Battles, and Give-aways.

Since you are limited to what you can do on the site maybe create a site for your RPG and have it half and half. (scratch site/RPG Home Site)

I see a lot of RPG profiles that are dull. If you want to create cool profiles add some animation into it, color, spiff it up it isn't 1930's lol. (don't get me wrong I like oldies)

Now for the gallery...dun dun dun... Try not to make the description uber long to read, maybe create sub gallery and have the links posted. Have a gallery for a certain part. (don't create 30 billion gallery's lol i mean maybe around 5 and have them equally and positively distributed on what they stand for)

Get peoples attention: Create Advertisements maybe hire some scratchers to do it for you.

Gather a Cabinet of people meaning a group of close friends on scratch who are prepared to help you with running the RPG, you need back up you know. ^_^

When creating Characters and Lands, and People have a limit I see a lot of people create 30 characters for themselves and tend to say they own everyone. Maybe try and engine where they raise there level by being active winning things and such.

Also Come up with good character descriptions so it makes things interesting. Here are some examples:

Dragon Character: Grandmother Slycatch the Wise - She is an ancient dragon. She has silver scales and exceptionally large wings. Her breath is a disruptive wave of sound. She is a scholar at heart. Her skill at creating traps is both impressive and deadly. She lives in an exotic jungle. Her hoard is big and consists almost entirely of magical artifacts.

Race Description: The cumbersome race. They are gray-skinned and have warmly-colored eyes. They are noted for the almost supernatural skill of their craftspeople and mystics. Their magical practices tend to focus on water magic. Their government is inefficient. They completely control a state that is known for its exotic animal life.
