Re: Uploading problem

Hi, Patarakin.

We just starting having these timeone errors a few days ago. They seem to be associated with larger (several megabyte) projects. It may also be related to server load, in which case uploading at an unusual time (e.g. first thing in the morning) might help. That's just a guess, though. Let me know if it works.

Re: Uploading problem

Thanks
I try to upload at different time (early mornng, day and night) - but it is uploading from Russia, so it is 7-8 hours difference.
First file was about 2.5 mgb
then I erase all extra sounds and now it is less then 0.9 mgb - with the same problem. I don't understand why it is so big now  cause I use only standart images and sounds from Scratch library.

Anyway - our congratulation with so wonderful project!
I resent it in several virtual communities and it looks like schock for many people!
Thanks!
Yevgeny

May be I can send some examples by e-mail or upload by ftp on another site?

Re: Uploading problem

I am having this timeout problem too.
My projects are only 700 KB.

I also have broken links on MyStuff page, can't list friends or join galleries.

Re: Uploading problem

I think friend listing is fixed now (as in yesterday morning) And you have to "subscribe" to a gallery in order to add to a gallery.

Re: Uploading problem

For those of you who are having problems uploading: what type of connection are you using? Dial-up? DSL?

Also, when you click the share button you get a dialog screen. What does the dialog screen says on the title?

Re: Uploading problem

I have a DSL connection.

When I click the share button, I have the POPUP window:"UPLOAD TO SCRATCH SERVER".

I have to enter my "scratch website login"
and my "Password"
and the "Project name"
and the "Project notes"

Does your Share dialog window says scratch.mit.edu? Like this one:

Re: Uploading problem

Hi, everyone. This is John Maloney, the lead programmer for Scratch. I apologize to those of you having difficulties uploading projects. We hope to get a new version of Scratch out in the next week that should fix these problems. (Some of us here are having the same problems, even over DSL lines.) Thank you for your patience...

Re: Uploading problem

I have an odd problem with sounds. It's difficult to describe.

Sometimes, when I download an uploaded project, some or all the sounds goes wrong, just a loud fizzle can be heard.
Another instance: I had an uploaded project without sounds. Today I decided to add some sounds and I re-uploaded it. But all the sounds has become very low and freaky. They must have got injured, because when I downloaded the new version (with that wrong sounds), all the sounds was wrong in Scratch as well.
Have you got any experiences in something like this?

Re: Uploading problem

To those of you having upload problems, we have a new version of Scratch (1.0.2) which fixes the problem. We will be sending out an announcement soon, but the downloads are already available on the downloads page (even though, right now, the page still says  Scratch 1.0.1). The new version also fixes the issues with sounds sometimes getting messed up when the project is uploaded.

I though you might like to know about this new version as soon as possible...
