being an atheist wont affect your programming skillsSo things like Orly the Owl has more a place in scratch than a a totally unbiased post discussing recent changes in certain religious bodies. In the first post of this thread there is not a single thing said that is not fact!

and the aforementioned Orly the Owl is scratch related?

but seriously religion is a choice, you cant force your opinion on others
if only this were true, throughout history almost all religious entities have started religious wars in an attempt to convert people to their faith.
i was telling them the way things should be in the hopes that they would be that way

im agnostic. so? and i used to be athiest. so? why do you care... and if you dont like my belief then dont go on scratch
I don't think we are asking anybody to like or dislike your beliefs...just to be tolerant and respectful of them
So...I am interested (and if you feel like discussing it)...what made you decide to switch from an athesitic viewpoint to an agnostic one? Was there a particular argument about the existance of a Supreme Being that you found persuasive or was it more of just a feeling?

honestly, i think people interpret religion differently. some people may think (since you asked I will explain) some forms of christains think the bible says homosexuality is bad. while others say it is ok. i personally think it is ok, and i always argue with my friends. since every one interprets religion differently, how do we know what is true. so i decided to become aethiest, when i realized actually i did not have an opinion about god so i became agnostic. another reason is (chrisitanity as an example) if people have questions about religion the answer will always be the bible. but people wrote the bible, not god. which is why i went aethiest. but you can never be sure so thats another reason i changed to be agnostic. sorry about how confusing this is and please dont hate me for not being religious!

From Webster's www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary :
Atheist - One who believes there is no deity.
Agnostic - A person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable ; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god.
I don't know of any atheists who believe in Satan or a devil.

Thanks for explaining your views. My own views are very close to yours, as a matter of fact

atheism is worship of the devil, actually
That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.
How can you worship a being that you do not believe exists?

Fundementally, we are all almost atheists. Just that out of the hundreds (thousands?) of gods a Christian/Jew/Muslim doesn't believe in, an atheist doesn't believe in just one more.

Gah! I'm sick of people crying "fraud" at these threads! About people who have the same opinions: Just be happy about them and realize that they are not all clones!

being an atheist wont affect your programming skillsHow fortunate, then, that your opinion as to what is spam and what isn't counts for so little on these forums.

You need to develop your reading comprehension skills.
Fantasy Tales was not giving the same reply as me, he was quoting me because he found my statement amusing.
Though why I am replying to someone who, in their own words "doesn't care" I don't know... An in-built habit of correcting other peoples mistakes, perhaps.

This seems a bit didactic - I was also confused by the paragraph under discussion. Notably missing were the usual visual cues that generally designate a quote, ie: quotation marks or the quote /quote box.
Let's cut each other a bit of slack

Lol. ^_^
Mayhem and Fantasy aren't the same person. ^^ Even their usernames don't fit each other! (would a person with the username Mayhem create an account called FantasyTales? I don't think so... xD)
Also, look at their registration dates. Fantasy registered in 2008. Mayhem registered in 2007. And both are active on the forums. I think that is already enough facts to prove that they are not the same person. ^_^

yeah but i wasnt paying attention to that

Honestly, this may be a little off topic but I'm glad the number is growing. Because you know what makes the world go to war? Religion. People only have religion because they are scares. Scared of death. Religion makes them feel safe. Do u really think there was a person who could change water into wine? Do u really think there is something around us that made the world? Because logical wxplainarions are it was bigbang. Not meaning to offend anyone but that is my belief

hmmm.... Alright. Let me say this one more time. (I don't know if I've already said this on scratch, but here it goes) Humanism beliefs are taught whether on purpose or on accident. You can't stop that. Even though religion would still exist. In the future, I can see where there would be no religic discussion outside of church or outside of your own home. This is a very durastic change from the 1600 where everyone discussed religion freely, for every nation had only one religion. Now it's alot more complicated, esecially here in the united states where we have one big curry plater of cultures all in one nation. Around here, it's best not to have a religion at all.
On another note. aren't christians supposed to love everyone? even non-believers? I don't know why this worries you.... (sorry if your not christian, because you sure do sound like it, no offence)

I'm athiest. I'm not scared of death. Here's a sample conversation with my friend:
My friend: "So what do atheists think is after death?"
Me: "You cease to exist."
My friend: "But wouldn't that suck?"
Me: "YOU DO NOT EXIST. YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF EXPERIENCING ANYTHING. YOU AREN'T EVEN PERCEIVING THAT YOU DO NOT EXIST."
My friend: "That still sounds like it would suck."
Me: "Okay, fine. Then you reboot as a different person with no memory of who you were, because you aren't who you were. You just go through life again arbitrarily."
My friend: "Religion seems a lot simpler."
