I know how you get it on iPad/iPhone. Jailbreak and get Cydia. Then add a new source and add it as the link to the scratch download. Then click application on the source and voila! You're on scratch! This works for me but you can only make games, not download them, however, to play the games online, install puffin flash browser for 69p and go on scratch's website. Then go on a project. If it then doesn't work it might say on the side switch to flash. Then it will work!
Hope this helps!

Jailbreaking voids your warranty. Otherwise, great idea.

There's something called restoring.

The thing you should be looking at is the puffin bit. That's what I use.

Yup. One problem for me... I have an iPad 2, which seems to not have any free jailbreaks in iOS 5. Think about it. Would an iPhone really be the best device for creating projects? The jailbreaking thing won't work for everyone.
Anyway, there are a few web browsers in the app store that support flash/java, so those should be good enough for Scratch 2.0.

How would you play them though? Games which require the arrow keys for example, you wouldn't be able to play

I know there are some apps that add extra keys above the standard keyboard.

I agree with an app. The only thing is... I have a tablet, not a cell phone. And Adobe doesnt work on it. Do you think you can make it so you dont need Flash? I use Android 2.0

Yeah, good idea! There should be an iPhone app (usable for iPod touch) except it has a different look so everything is easier to see and use. In fact, I am typing this on an old Mac! (for you PC users, a Mac or Macintosh is not only an apple, but a computer from Apple!) BOBBYBOB3:)

What do you mean jailbreaking? Is this against the law? (again, please don't call me stupid for not knowing)

No, but some people argue that it should be because it allows illegal activities (i.e. music pirating).

That would be soooo cool! Because I really would like to be able to make projects on my cell phone. I already am able to go on scratch.mit.edu if there's wi-fi, but I would like to be able to actually make the games.

that couldn't happen because mobile devices just don't have the memory space for things like S cratch.
Yes they do.

Apple wouldn't allow it due to their restriction of any other business making an interactive app in the app store.

I dont have any of the " I " things but I still think that others should have the ability of scratch on a mobile device. It would be cool if they had an android app.

There was a Scratch app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch available but Apple removed it
I think it we would be cool to have Scratch on some common portable devices. Scratch is made in squeak, a very cross-platform programming environment.
You just need a VM, you have:
Squeak for Windows Mobile
Squeak for Iphone (iSqueak)
Squeak for Nintendo DS

Now we still need a portable scratch application. Scratch 1.4 works kind of, but it is designed for normal PC's and thus not ideal. It consumes way too much memory for use on resource-limited devices.
What would a portable Scratch app look like?
Should it allow you to create Scratch projects, or just play them?
I already managed to play Scratch projects on a Windows Mobile Phone, it's really cool and I think this idea has a lot of potential.
Please post what you think!

is there a squeak vm you can get FROM your 3ds for it?

if you could build it on the internet and make an app that connects you to the source it would not take up as much space however you might not me able to use squeek
