I agree. We always see the same people on the front page. That are sometimes not worthy of the front page, and are just there because of the popularity of the certain person. Now is the time to bring great scratchers out of the shadows!

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of warrior cats.  I don't really care who BrambleThornStarPaw or FireLavaCatFaceHead is.  I'm also sick of manga.  Every time I look at the front page there's some project that's a badly drawn picture of some anime person's huge eyeballs that just has sappy music and 1 script.  Not only is it really lame, it's also not a very good example of programming.  So whoever decides what goes on the front page has strange taste.  My other proof of this is in the "most downloaded" category, there was an anime project that had about 28 downloads.  Then I remembered:  "Hey!  One of my projects has over 50 downloads!"  And I bet someone else has even more.  So, yeah, the front page has many problems.

Im not sick of cats. How can you tell people what or what not to like?

I personally don't like a compromise, us programmers also need to mobilized for the "views war"

About the good projects person:
You don't want one good project taking up four spaces on the front page. And your project is the only thing that can never be on the front  page again. So if you make tons of good projects, and they are popular then they will get rightfully on the front page. Where it is supposed to be.

About the bad projects person:
A horrible project making Scratcher is probably only going to improve slowly. If that actually happened though (which it might, people surprise you) Then for all of their bad projects they don't deserve to be on the front page. If it is: Too bad. There are already plenty of Scratchers that have good projects that never get on  the front page, but they deal with it. A bad Scratcher should be able to deal with it just as well. (unless they are a one of those people who quit Scratch because they have no popularity)

In conclusion:
It is always better to make good projects! 

That's kinda funny which users you're talking about.  Maki-tak doesn't post hardly anymore projects, no one's heard of nikkiperson2, mahoashley quit, maskedstar can't go on scratch anymore, and there are no more anime people or warrior cats to everyone's relief- now we have swifty (no offense to you, I like your videos, but there's just too much of them! I don't think 15-second videos as in your epic-fails deserve top-viewed. Also Stickmaster's collections and miniature stick-episodes which are okay, but I'm getting tired of em, and justin bieber hate-projects.)  I'm kind of proud that we at least have ONE quality thing on there, but elsewise...    We can't just tell them to stop looking at their things. Also, I feel sorry because famous people can never get something featured... but

my idea is that people can only get on the front page once every 15 days or so. What do you think?

Ok, here is my view. I know a lot of people are going to hate me but this has to be said...
All the project selected by the Scratch team are interesting and good projects and all the projects that are based on stats (views, love it's ect) are of a poorer quality.

I think the scratch team need to for top viewed, top loved to get the recent top 200 and then they pick what they think are the best projects. As well as maybe a new line called 'Random' to give random projects publicity! 

Oh an get rid of the Top Remixed line. It's full of spam like projects that are all poor

Maybe... How many times per year you can get on the frontpage? Maybe something like 12 would be nice and fair.

one person doesnt decide what goes on the front-page, it's the whole community

i think there should be something like you can not get on the front page if youre last project on the front page was on the front page less than a month ago
