Even though your changes "hurt" me (as Hangman had 3 spots on the front page), I love the new diversity of the front page!

I think it should keep the same system, but install a project on the front page counter. And if within like 5 days if one user has more than 3 spots you kick all of them out and that user can't appear on the front page for at least a week. Or you could have like a time limit for the longest one project can stay on the frontpage. Like 4 days. Anyone like those ideas?
i kinda like that idea

So like if a project gets on top viewed, it can't be top loved?
Like after its been on the front page, it can't show up on the front page again after being taken off. Maybe, I think

great, i hope this problem gets addressed, another suggestion would be that a member of scratch cannot have two different projects on the front page at the same time. that doesnt mean they wouldn't get on ever, it just means that they would have to wait a bit.

Although I have only had a surprise project up there, I am just plain sick of anime and cats so really try making projects that actually looks good, well scripted and fun like a mix.

I beg of you to please put a limit of how many times a user can get on the front page. I know there is probably a similar post but, Its getting annoying. Im not trying to sound harsh but all I see is MaskedStar,Maho, Warrior Cats, Anime, all day long for the past month. Im trying to search for a variety. I wish there was some way there could be limit. There are a lot of projects out there with variety and I know the users cant help that they get on the front page because its the community but its seems like they have taken over. I love the Featured Users part that what I look forward too know because I know there are no cats in there or the same type of project!
Yeah, I'm pretty sick of warrior cats. I don't really care who BrambleThornStarPaw or FireLavaCatFaceHead is. I'm also sick of manga. Every time I look at the front page there's some project that's a badly drawn picture of some anime person's huge eyeballs that just has sappy music and 1 script. Not only is it really lame, it's also not a very good example of programming. So whoever decides what goes on the front page has strange taste. My other proof of this is in the "most downloaded" category, there was an anime project that had about 28 downloads. Then I remembered: "Hey! One of my projects has over 50 downloads!" And I bet someone else has even more. So, yeah, the front page has many problems.
Once again, the front page is determined on who has the most downloads in a certain time block. Or else the most downloaded project on scratch would always be there, same with loved and viewed. But yes I am sick of these projects. And no offense to Maskedstar or Kaotheroogancreator but I don't care if you have heartburn or some sickness that makes your head hurt! You don't have to make a project about it!!! And the worse part is, the heartburn project got TOP LOVED!!!!!!! What is wrong with people these days?
I had to get my appendix removed in november VERY PAINFUL!!!! But I didn't make some stupid project with horrid drawings and only one script saying that if ppl cared to love it. OF COURSE PEOPLE CARE!!!!! I might have only told ONE person on scratch about it but that was just a comment. I agree with EVERYONE. I am getting REALLY sick of cats, and anime, and worrior cats, and anime cats, and anime worrior cats! it is SICKENING!! At least there is not as much anymore-but there still is some.

From the Scratch Team Blog - New features!
#4. One project per person on the front page. Now, even if a project is really popular it will only get one spot now on the front page. We think this gives everyone a better chance to get more visibility and feedback on their hard work.

I think this is a good idea, but there is one problem; suppose someone gets their eleventh or so project on the front page. Now suppose they put another project on that is just plain incredible. If this were just activated before the project was on, what if the project would have hit the Top Loved or something other than that? It misses out on what it deserves. Shame.

What about a randomizer for each "top" category?
Example: assume there are about 30 projects that have at least 200 pageviews or more within 24 hours, and assume that having 200+ pageviews within 24 hours is the minimum criteria for getting onto the front page for "Top Viewed".* Instead of automatically picking the top three, have the randomizer randomly pick three out of all thirty projects every ten minutes or so.
*Note: I'm still a bit of a newbie around this site. If someone could explain to me the exact criteria of how the "top" categories actually work, it would be helpful in suggesting a solution for this problem.Thats kind of like surprise projects.
Not bad idea, bosox397. I quite like the idea about it picking random projects from the thirty different ones. Perhaps people could also make it so the ones that got more views should show up more often? Who knows...

I also agree that the same type of projects by the same users on the top loved/top viewed gets tedious, my suggestion would be to limit users to 1 project on the front page per month, that would really give more diversity.

Ah, I see. I wasn't the first person with this idea after all! I knew I couldn't be.

Even if the internet dies, Scratch shall live on.
I agree 100% anime cats are boring and weird, but this is not a way to treat the problem! This is just covering it up. I urge you not to do this! users like the projects so why SHOULDN'T they be on the frontpage? there are just trends, once, long ago in a distant past of 2007 and 2008 there were projects with programming (now thats a thought) then doody, then moahashely and maskedstar, and now maskedstar and longpatrol. This is just another long phase! It may be easy to impose restrictions, but if you want to do it the RIGHT way, it may be harder

Yeah, the latest frontpage projects are all the same by the same users. I am kinda sick of cats and anime now. There haven't been any neat programs for a while. And there is no way any user should have 3 spots for the same project because it kills the purpose of the different sections.
I heard that andres is going to address this problem soon so it should be ok.
I'm tired of MaskedStar (no offence PLZ) and others. Please add a limit that if a user gets a certain number of projects on the front page, they won't get anymore on there for a certain period of time.

Don't take out Doody, then Scratch would be boring.

Well, it's fixed, and Doody (I think, at least) isn't overloading anymore. ^^ No worries!

She - She's a she xD
By the way, it has been a very long time since she was on the frontpage, she deserves it
If you want to see your projects on the frontpage (beware, +- 40 messages a day sometimes xD ) try to get there! Create a nice game, advertise it in the show and tell forum and into your sig, add it to the fitting galleries, add correct tags. Post nice replies to other projects and on the forums, more and more people will click your username and watch your project! Not just for one project, all of them

One time I had a featured project that soon led another project (of mine of course!) To get top viewed then top downloaded. At one point in my week of fame, I got 162 new messages
