yeah, I have nothing against them too but the system is so glitchy, for instance, my mario chute project has 21 love its and still isnt on the front page! also, the last featured project is something i did earlier than the current author but mine did'nt get featured

What about a randomizer for each "top" category?

Example: assume there are about 30 projects that have at least 200 pageviews or more within 24 hours, and assume that having 200+ pageviews within 24 hours is the minimum criteria for getting onto the front page for "Top Viewed".* Instead of automatically picking the top three, have the randomizer randomly pick three out of all thirty projects every ten minutes or so.

*Note: I'm still a bit of a newbie around this site. If someone could explain to me the exact criteria of how the "top" categories actually work, it would be helpful in suggesting a solution for this problem.

Thats kind of like surprise projects.

That's kind of like surprise projects.

Of course it is, but I'm assuming the "Surprise Projects" catergory here on the SCRATCH website does not have time, pageview, favorite, 'Love it!' constraints (unless, of course, I'm wrong again here, because I'm still a newbie). Applying the constraints in conjunction with a randomizer instead of just picking the top three can help prevent constant redundancy of certain projects appearing consistently in the "Top" categories, and I don't believe it would be that hard to implement.

Yeah I just hate looking at the frontpage now. I can only tolerate a certain amount of anime, cats, and anime cats...

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of warrior cats.  I don't really care who BrambleThornStarPaw or FireLavaCatFaceHead is.  I'm also sick of manga.  Every time I look at the front page there's some project that's a badly drawn picture of some anime person's huge eyeballs that just has sappy music and 1 script.  Not only is it really lame, it's also not a very good example of programming.  So whoever decides what goes on the front page has strange taste.  My other proof of this is in the "most downloaded" category, there was an anime project that had about 28 downloads.  Then I remembered:  "Hey!  One of my projects has over 50 downloads!"  And I bet someone else has even more.  So, yeah, the front page has many problems.

LOL. So, I agree. I am sick of stupid (no offence) anime cats junk and crud. DO SOMETHING@@

Once again, the front page is determined on who has the most downloads in a certain time block. Or else the most downloaded project on scratch would always be there, same with loved and viewed. But yes I am sick of these projects. And no offense to Maskedstar or Kaotheroogancreator but I don't care if you have heartburn or some sickness that makes your head hurt! You don't have to make a project about it!!! And the worse part is, the heartburn project got TOP LOVED!!!!!!! What is wrong with people these days?

The worst part is none of these Scratch "celebrities" can do anything about it. It is nice to get on the front page once in a while, but sometimes your projects end up there even when you don't want them to. It's happened before to some people.
Anyway, I'm hoping the Scratch Team, Magical Scratch Cat or whatever can do something about this. What if people can only have one project Front-Paged at a time?

Yah if you remember when I was on the front page for the long time I didn't really want Infinite Game up there cuz all it was was a gif. But now its all the anime cats which get really annoying. Anyway, boltbait's taking it back. So root him on

I agree with you! And I think that it would be a good idea to make it so a user can only get a certain number of projects on the front page and when they surpass that limit that user can't get anything on the front page for maybe 5 months because if I was the user that got stuff on the front page and then found out hat I could'n get anything ever on the front page again I would be majorly bummed.

The front page is not "glitchy" at all the way the Top Loved Lately works is the project that gets the most Loveits in the fastest amount of time gets on Top loved Lately that is wy your project is not on the front page.

Oh my god, yes!!!! Thank u, Andersmh, thank u! The freaking anime warriorcat hampster stuff has gotten so old! But it looks like the new system is working! For the first time since I've joined scratch, only one project from either maskedstar, doody, or mahoashley is on front page! It's a freaking miracle!!!! *sniff* I think I'm going to cry! But u may also want to make it so that each user can only have one project on front page at one time, cuz I'm sure there'll be more projects from maskedstar and maho up there soon. Also, I'd like to see a new "best games" category. Even tho there aren't so many warriorcat or anime projects up right now, there r still a lot of non-game or animation projects up there, and I feel that the "program" in "imagine, program, share" is being lost. People should be able to see what scratch can really do if used correctly.
