Unable to connect to the Scratch server to Share projects

I'm a teacher a school and we're trying to upload student projects using the Share! button. I've search the other forums and have read similiar postings, but they were entered awhile ago and I didn't come upon any solutions. I'm posting this problem in this forum in hopes that other educators have run into this too and can offer fixes.

The "connecting to Scratch.mit.edu" window appears but the progress bar only makes it 10%. Perhaps it's happening because we're behind a firewall? Any suggestions?

Yes, it is very likely that the problem is caused by your firewall or proxy. Perhaps you could ask your network administrator to let connections to the Scratch website via HTTP go through without passing by the firewall/proxy.

Could you tell me what port needs to be unblocked in order for an upload to work successfully?  (1920?)

Port 80 via HTTP according to http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1004
