How would I have a dashboard widget access Scratch notifications? I could have the user type their username and password, then could it access their notifications? Can someone on the Scratch Team with a Mac and Dashcode answer this?

You may want to try Mozilla's Ubiquity plug-in. It allows you to make simple text commands that do certain things, such as check notifications, etc. It involves Javascript, but there are template commands that you can easily modify to do things like what you describe.

Ok. I'll try that, but getting it to work with Dashboard will be hard. And also my copy of Firefox won't open. But otherwise, it'll work.

Were you planning on releasing this widget to the public? I could use this on my iMac.
Just curious, how did you learn Dashcode? The best that I can write is a simple countdown timer.

Yes, I'm releasing it to the public, and I just learned a bit of Javascript, but I know what you mean. Dashcode is hard to use.

I've tried making a widget that holds a scratch project, but it wont work because the widgets are draggable in dashboard, so that means you cant interact with the applet that well, so there will be a lot of bugs to kink out if this is what you are trying to do...

Yeah, that doesn't work, but I am making it access NOTIFICATIONS, not projects.

Thats a cool project! Dashcode isn't that hard, it's just when you leave the realm of html, css, and javascript, it gets complex.

True. I have a web designer for a mom, so I learned HTML pretty quickly.
EDIT: I am going to have it access new projects too.

A helpful idea (I don't now if it will work
) :
This could probably done by using a directed frame. You could make the frame (No scroll bars or draggable borders) go to the login page ( And section, so it looks neat, with(Meaning that the other parts of the page would be unseeable) ), then because everybody's notifications page has the same address ( www.scratch.mit.edu/notifications ) You could have a frame with a scroll bar that goes down, and make the window wide enough to see all notifications. The idea for the projects ( My idea ) would be centered around the same thing. Good luck!

PLEASE help me. I started over and did AlanProjects' suggestion, and I can't get the frame to show. http://www.mediafire.com/file/o5anzc4zegz/SN.zip
I finally got dashcode. I'll take a look.
