I'm really behind the sub topics idea, but I'd like to asa little change.

I don't like the categories on the home page... If all those categories will be shown on the forums index, it'll be a mess. If all categories from the (well structured, thanks to put in so much work!) post above shadow_7283 wrote, We would have like 30 categories all in on one page - that certainly is distracting to beginners.

I'd like to see the front page with only the 12 main categories shadow suggested, and the sub categories only shown when you click on it.  Sort of like folders...

If it is to much PHP work , you can always put it into collapsible div's, it'd be easy to use and faster too  big_smile

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the comment. I have been thinking about it and it would probably be better to have the sub-topics on a seperate link like you said. About the "collapsible div's" can you explain that? I'm not to farmiliar with technical terms.  smile

Re: Sub Topics

This topic has slowed a lot. Is the Scratch Team still considering adding sub topics?

Re: Sub Topics

Shadow - to answer your post above - with collapsable divs I mean, uhm... Collapsable areas. Like you can click on expand, and it shows some more info. (the sub topics in this case). Sort of like you can click (read more) on youtube videos, but it can be worked out to fit the needs - show subtopics.

I hope the scratch team is still considering this...

Re: Sub Topics

I totally support this! ^_^

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Re: Sub Topics

I personally think the forums are coping fine without subforums/topics/whatever you want to call them. Do we really need this?

I think it's a good idea, and I'd volunteer to move the threads if this plan was enacted.
Perhaps you can wait for this topic to get buried with the other threads beyond the first page and post a new thread? Either way, this should get closed imo.

Re: Sub Topics

Your right... I'm not sure what the Scratch Team would think about double posting, but since they're a year apart I don't think it matters.
