The current set of buttons for making blocks in forum posts are a tad ugly, the way the text doesn't seem to be aligned the same for different blocks:
Maybe I'm just OCD ( lol ) about this, but I think they should be cleaned up a bit, more like this:

Great looking buttons!
They should also update the actual blocks you can put in your posts. It looks like the blocks are all different sizes, and sometimes part of them cover some of the words you type.

I agree. The entire forum-based block system is a complete mess.
Whenever I see someone attempt a script with them, I can't even read it.

Yeah, it kinda works? But often degrades into quite a mess; I prefer to just use text.
I think, though, that nice code-block formatting could probably be approximated with a bit of cunning CSS styling... I'd sit down and play with that if the web admins here thought they could implement such a thing.
(jamie: If you want them to be able to drop your buttons in to replace the old ones, you might want to make it nice and easy for them by matching the current ones' width/height, and making sure they either alpha-blend to that particular shade of grey down there, or have clean edges.)
