Ideal music format for Scratch

I've been trying to upload a game with music but Scratch makes the music files too big and it takes too long to download the game. Is there any suggestions to cut down on the memory usage for music files?

Re: Ideal music format for Scratch

If your sounds are too big, you can compress them by clicking on "extras" at the top and then clicking "compress sounds". Then you choose the quality, and the lowest quality makes the sounds the smallest size.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Ideal music format for Scratch

Another approach to adding music to a project is to use the Play Notes blocks.  They load really quickly.  Take a look at my Christmas Tree project for some handy scripts.
