SERIOUSLY! A SCRATCH SUMMER CAMP WOULD BE SO AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plz consider it!

I live in the same state. The only person I know around here who (used to) scratch. It would really be cool if there would be cool if they did have a meeting down here.

We wish that we could do these everywhere!  smile  We're trying out this smaller event as an experiment for Boston-area Scratchers. We hope that what we learn from this event will help us help others organise their own events. Hopefully there will be an event closer to you soon!

Thanks,
Karen

Well, I doubt I can go (I live in Colorado), but there is like a 0.5 % chance i can go, because my dad is also a scratch user. I hope I can go!  big_smile

Relly? Your dad is a user? What is his username?  yikes

I would think of hosting a few meetups(I'm in Cali  sad  ), in populated places, such as:

Albany, New York State
Seattle, Washington State
Chicago, Illinois
Cleveland, Ohio
Portland, Oregon
New Orleans, Louisiana
Jackson, Mississippi
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Las Vegas, Nevada
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Phoenix, Arizona
Houston, Texas
Austin, Texas
Montgomery, Alabama
Orlando, Florida
Tallahassee,  Florida
Nashville, Tennessee

And that's not all. Maybe worldwide!

Shanghai, China
Singapore
Jerusalem, Israel
New Delhi, India
London, England
Paris, France

May be a bit too much, but practically anything's possible!  smile

Hmm, as a Newyorker i must say, it would be awesome if they would host it in Albany, NY. (plus it be easy for me to get too lol) XD

Errr, that depends on what your values are. I personally think that Canada is of the best places to live.

PS: If anyone wants to organize a Toronto meetup I might go.

I'd pay a billion dollars just to see you lol. And America, it just to me has lots of freedom and rights and stuff, like in court you can say "I plead the 5th" and you don't have to argue against yourself and stuff, its really nice. Each state can make its own laws, and lots more

I think its kinda funny that people think I am super cool/popular. My brother saw some comments on his projects that I was like a god or something and he joked about it  tongue

Re: Scratcher Meetup @ MIT

Karen,

Thanks for putting this announcement on the site.  This coming Tuesday and Wednesday I will be presenting at the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference on using Scratch to enhance mathematics and science instruction at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.  I will inform all of my attendees of this Meet-Up and encourage them to attend.  As for myself, I will be back in NYC by Saturday.

The iWorld team from the Institute for Learning Technologies will be presenting at a workshop this coming Tuesday at the McAuliffe Technology Conference in Nashua, NH.  We encourage all educators to come and learn about how we're using Scratch in the classroom.

Maybe you can start another thread on the forums asking for other Scratchers )and their parents) in England interested in meeting somewhere?

I bet alot of people wouldn't  pay. but you could ask your friends to spread the world and to tell thier friend the same and to continue like that and the word would get around. you could advertise the meeting on project aswell. I'm closer to boston then you though. I'm in the states  smile  smile  smile  smile

Re: Scratcher Meetup @ MIT

Well MIT college is in near Boston so the people at MIT probally can't make it a country wide program.
