It means that something went wrong with the uploading but the program can't quite pinpoint it. Usually if you try again later, the error goes away. If not, then check the size of the project, because it sometimes does that if the project is over 10MB (even though it is supposed to give a specific error for that, it sometimes just says unknown reason).
If it still doesn't go away and the project is less than 10MB, then I recommend just waiting for the release of Scratch 2.0 (which is in 5 days) and then uploading it there.
