Just wanted to let you guys know, microsoft seem to be giving away windows to web developers in the hope that they may build IE support into their websites.
http://www.modern.ie/en-us/virtualizati … #downloads
Basically gives you Windows preinstalled for Virtualbox (vmware and parallels versions also available), that is fully functional for a number of months after which you simply renew registration.
I currently have XP and 7 and I will get Vista soon.
Thought you might like to know
Discuss Microsoft becoming desparate as their IE falls below 20% market share.

I have seen this a while ago. I just use Windows Developer Preview, which has expired and restarts every 2 hours, but it is still works and I mostly use it for making Everybody Edits bots in Visual C#. I don't really need it though because I have a (hacked) school netbook.

Yeah, when I first seen that, I thought it was fake or a virus or something.

It seems's they are thinking that developer may give a hand to IE with their creations in terms of IE compatibility. But, still I don't think it as working strategy. My question to Microsoft: Being a world's largest/biggest IT firm, can't they develop completely brand new IE like how Google did Chrome?
Old strategies will not work out, have to think out of the box and come up with new one.

But they have to keep supporting old tech which limits them to making a slow, semi-functional, old-tech browser.
