why does mozilla firefox NOT DOWNLOAD SCRATCH PROJECTS CORRECTLY?

it downloads it, but when i open it it says 'what program do you want to open it with' I click scratch but then  it makes me click the image. So i do and the project doesn't open but scratch does. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!<forever><say[ Why?

Same happens to me. Just download it to a folder, then open it.

Don't open it using firefox. Download the file, open scratch, then click open and find the file you downloaded.

Hi wordMan, and all,

this always happens to me, too. I've been trying to track this bug down, and it looks like something related to character encoding within Firefox (and other applications calling Scratch). The way I get it to work currently is to just download a project, and then open it in Scratch by double-clicking on it.
