Will cloud chats be allowed?
Question To Moderators:
So I have been wondering if it were allowed to run chatrooms within Scratch 2.0. As you may know Scratch is a very safe site for all ages so no inappropriate lanugae is to be used, but it could be very easy for someone to sneak one or two words in there without anyone knowing for all to see.
In the Scratch Suggestions page, someone asked if we were allowed to have profile chats without making a project. This idea has been given the status of 'Being Reviewed' and Lightnin replied: 'Chatrooms are definitely fun, but they can also tend to take a lot of moderation. Right now it’s possible to make your own chatroom with cloud variables', so does this mean its possible?

It's possible, but AFAIK, the current stance is that the ST banned chat rooms.

The Scratch Team has currently banned chatrooms, and is finding a way to make it so they can't be made.

It's not actually possible (besides banning all people who do, and censoring projects with chat, chatroom, talk, pm, whatever, in the description/title)

Free chats (chat's where you can say whatever you want, or whatever you want except a list of bad words) are capital b Banned at the moment
However, menu chats (press 1 to say hi, 2 to say bye, 1325132512345075 to say how are you etc.) are totally allowed!

Don't they have a limit of 10 cloud numbers?

The banned the list part is a bad idea because
People could look inside your project and see badwords. People can make variations of the same word

The letters and words would be encoded into numbers and put into the cloud variable and the encoded words would be decoded and put onto the chat. It has been done before but those people don't want to get in trouble so the unshared it (so other people cannot view it).
In fact some people just make for fun and never share it. XD P.S. I made this morse code project and it doesn't need encoding and decoding. I told lighnin about it and he told me to unshare it.

AI chats that don't use cloud are allowed, but cloud chats are NOT. The ST's answer on that was pretty final.
