Right now, the best way is to leave a comment on one of their projects or galleries. If they don't have any, you're kind of out of luck. In Scratch 2.0, you will also be able to leave comments on their profile.

Yep...Scratch 2.0 is a lot more social. The programming stuff is also a lot better. So win-win.
