I think the thumbnail should be an animation, not a picture. What do you think?

Interesting idea, but people with slow internet wouldn't be able to view an user's page full of animated thumbnails because it would be too laggy, don't you think?

Maybe if you roll over a thumbnail, it could display some more images (one or two) to show what else the project may look like.

The problem with thumbnails is that you need a nail clipper.

When uploading a project, you get to choose what is in the thumbnail. If the project continued, it wouldn't know where to go. (I could choose to put a big picture covering everything, and make it hide on green flag, but the green flag wouldn't be clicked and it wouldn't hide.)
Another major problem is that thumbnails don't get user interaction so an animation of a game would just show dying, or if it's at the menu it'd just show the menu, even though the user might want to show a more interesting part of the game. Namely, the game.
