Hi advanced Scratchers. I am hoping you can help. Several active Scratch members that used to be able to post projects are reporting that they no longer are able to, as of a couple weeks ago.
Do you have any suggestions for them?
Here are examples of what they're reporting and what we've suggested:

The problem may be with network access to scratch.mit.edu which has recently had some pretty severe routing problems (loops at scratch.media.mit.edu). Until that problem is fixed, it is difficult to say what else might be going on.

kan, you can upload projects with the current version of Scratch. I see you have uploaded more than 20 projects so I assume you are not having problems uploading? Do you?

No, andresmh, I think he meant is it possible that later Scratch versions/website/server updates will allow you to upload even very complicated *huge* projects without being told that they are too big. I would like to know as well...

I had the same problem with my christmas logo project, I tried uploading it yesterday in the evening (morning/noon in America), and it said: "primitive has failed", so I tried it today in the morning (midnight in America), and it worked! Maybe uploading a project in a time when less people are using the website will help.

The project usually doesn't upload when contains big music. Try cutting off a part of the track (with a sound editor, of course). Or you can try to upload the music without the project and see if it works.

YasuMegummi: post a new topic on the Troubleshooting forum with a link to your project and a description of the problem. I am sure someone will see it and help you.
If you post on a topic (like this one) that is not related to your problem is less likely that someone will see it. So I'd suggest that you post a new topic on the Troubleshooting forum so that other people can help you more quickly.

I'm only an advanced scratcher cause I know HTML, flash, action script, javascript, and C++, but I think maybe you could check the box that says compress sounds and images if you have 1.2.1.

Not sure if this is fixed... But on older macs (PPC), the upload process works perfectly... However, the "Retrieving data from server" message never goes away
It works fine on Intel Macs, and PC.... Maybe it's just my school's stupid proxy servers.

Do you mean that you pressed COMPRESS images? If so, go to extras-->images-->and type in 70.
Hope this helps.

Hi midnightleopard...I see on your page that you have a number of projects uploaded so it must have been working at one time, right? I also see that your most recent project is almost 2 months old. So did something change about 2 months ago? Did you get a different computer or internet connection?

This topic is not stickied anymore, because it isn't being used frequently anymore.
But, of course, If you still want to share something that has to do with the subject, feel free to post!
Thank you and... Scratch on!
