Reset Password problem

So I don't "XY Problem" you, I'll start with my specific issue and zoom out to my intent:

1) http://beta.scratch.mit.edu/accounts/password_reset/_#id_ has what looks like bad HTML: form id="password-reset" action method="post"

That is, there's no "action", so it can't submit.

2) I'm resetting my password on that site because I'm trying to log in with the same account as I'm using now on the forums. Is that way off?

3) I'm trying to log in to beta.scratch.mit.edu so my kids can save their work on Scratch.

4) I'm using my account because of that message (which puzzles me) about how only users who registered before a certain date can use the Beta.  I'm curious, why is this the policy?

Thanks!

1) They (the ST) don't want to update thebeta all the time, it's better to keep everything on the database as is.

2)The website only recognizes passwords before 1/26/13 so you have to use your old password. I am saying this because I don't understand your question fully.

4) (I skipped 3 because it didn't demand an answer) The ST doesn't want to keep both sites running at the same time, so it's easier just to let accounts before 1/26/13 go into beta.

Hope that answers your questions!
