Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

Man, been trying to upload the demo for over an hour now, but it just keeps failing. I assume it's because of poor Internet connection, so I'll upload it later tonight when connection's a bit better.

@jji - Great. Also TMBG stands for They Might Be Giants, an alternative band known for their quirky songs. I thought the song had that sort of vibe.

Also, I really like the sigs. Good job on them.  smile

Sorry about not being able to release the demo. I finished it hours ago but it just won't do anything when I click 'Upload'. It'll be out tomorrow at the latest, but under ideal circumstances (and most likely) it'll be out later tonight.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

Great stuff, man. I was just about to ask for the chords so I could maybe come up with some little keys part or something during the free time.

Also, I don't know what's going on, but it just won't let me upload my demo. It's really upsetting. I guess I'll try again tomorrow. Hopefully, the files aren't corrupted or anything. If problems persist, I'll try to find some other means of uploading.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

I'll see if I can write a song about thick sports coaches.
I'd call it EFN (everybody's favourite Nazi)
but I need to actually write some lyrics.
Hmmf
I'll get round to it.

I think you should just upload the audio file to somewhere like mediafire, or dropbox. That way it's much less complicated (and uses less bandwidth, faster), than a scratch project  smile

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

I worked out the fingering for the chugging elec. rhythm guitar.

G: 3-0-x-x-x
C: 0-3-x-x-x
D: 2-5-x-x-x
A: 5-3-x-x-x
D: 7-5-x-x-x

I'm pretty sure that's all ok. I think the acoustic guitar can be re-recorded just as All4one played it, and then we need some drums and possibly a solo. Is it decided All4one sings it? Who's the mixer? I can mix, I have access to garageband, which is better than Audacity.

Hehe, talking of activeness, FC has been working on a 14 track album set for release early this summer which is very soon, so for all nay-sayers who think we're dead (as we often get just cos we have our daily discussions on Google Chat now due to issues here), we're growing stronger!

Anyway All4one, good luck with your band and pulling this one off mate. I'd love to have helped you out being the ol' friends we are (what has it been; four years?), but you know why I don't want to join another band.  wink

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

And fl studio beats audacity and GarageBand, but I still prefer audacity because it is open source and it has a nice draw tool.
And it's low budget, which is my main gimmick as far as music is concerned. I make cool music from very little  smile
and I will start writing these songs. I hope you don't mind if I make them weird and interesting and different and possibly slightly odd.

Sorry for this random interruption on your otherwise nice band thread, but why would you put an F# and a B as the bass notes on the D chords?

For me, the stranger the better. Mind you, one of my favorite songwriters is Syd Barrett.  tongue

Also, I'm finally uploading the demo to Dropbox. Lot of stuff got in the way in the past 24 hours but it's finally being uploaded.  big_smile

I'll edit this with a link when it's done.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

@backspace: you may be right, but it sounds ok.
@all4one: you should now have a drop box folder in either your home folder PR your desktop. Drag any files to that folder, and it automatically syncs whenever you have an internet connection. You can also use the web uploaded at dropbox.com after logging in.

Also, quiet please seems to be a more accomplished band than autumn.
