Re: 7 Things About Me (and you too!)

This seems like a cool thing to do to introduce myself, to the community!

1. I have naturally red hair.  big_smile
2. I love, love, love Taylor Swift, she's my inspiration.  smile
3. I write poems, short stories, and novels! My favorite genre of regular writing, not poetry (what's the name for that again...Lol?) is fantasy!
4. I am in sixth grade.
5. My favorite animals are dolphins and sharks.
6. I am a fan of Fablehaven and Percy Jackson! I love to read. I have a 9.5 reading level, which means the reading level of a ninth-grader.
7. I have a bucket list, before I die I want to see Taylor Swift live (again!) and I want to go scuba diving in Hawaii.  big_smile

What's the difference between a worker and a drone?

Worker bees are all female. They collect nectar and pollen, clean the hive etc and tend to the eggs and the queen. There are very few drones in a colony and they are male. They lie around in the hive all their life doing nothing much, even pooping in the hive and making the drones clean it out. Then they fly off and mate with a queen and then die  tongue

specifically, drone eggs are laid by worker bees, who have not been fertilized and therefore create male bees. female eggs are laid by the queen and have been fertilized with a drone (or several).

Actually, I just realized that what sparks said is actually not true. You cannot turn a male (drone) egg into a female (worker/queen) no matter what chemicals you feed it, or vice versa. What sparks probably meant is that you can turn a worker into a queen by feeding it more royal jelly, which is a secretion that is very high in protein as well as containing the chemical that causes the larva to turn into a queen, royalactin. This only works on female eggs - drone eggs' fate cannot be changed no matter what uncreatively named chemicals you feed it on.

Re: 7 Things About Me (and you too!)

1. I like pizza

2. I prefer stupid things over practical things

3. I don't have a "literal" sense of humor (for instance a joke like "'Peabody' sounds like a body made of peas" or "classrooms mix the Dum-dums and the Smarties to make them sweeter")

4. I'm on a roll (actually a croissant) with this thing

5. I contradict myself frequently (hence #3 and #4)

6. I entertain myself with useless integers and damsels in distress.

7. I like pizza, not pizza!

8. I constantly edit my Scratch forums posts.

9. I just wrote 2 too many facts.

Re: 7 Things About Me (and you too!)

1.) I have insomnia.
2.) I have OCD.
3.) I've been here since '07
4.) I haven't been here for a while.
5.) All the new music is garbage. Sorry directioners and beliebers.
6.) I have no life whatsoever.
7.) Some of these are false. Or is this one false? Which makes them all true. But if they're all true, one must be false.

If you think all new music sucks then you aren't listening to the right new music. Sorry, One Direction and Justin Bieber aren't the only artists currently making music
