1) scratch is always laggy if you are using too many sprites at once, try opening up presentation mode (the TV button)
2) well you'd best list what blocks you have so I can see what the problem is with the scripting
BTW here are a few (probably complex 4 U) techniques to make games in scratch, download them and look at the code

1) Is it being lagging offline or online? You may want to try reducing the size by getting rid of large music or image files or at least lowering the quality. Playing in presentation mode also reduces lag.
2) Did you double click the script? Did you make sure everything was put together properly? What does your script look like?
