Anyway, I prefer Harry Potter by a few million times over.

There are too many things that aren't explained (from what I've heard) and the idea that a 180 year old guy would be interested in an underage (challenged?) girl is kinda creepy.

Also, apparently Jacob chooses to fall in love with a girl that will always be 17 years old.

My sister refuses to give me a clear answer on THAT.

The creepiest part was him "imprinting" (falling in creepily obsessive love with) a baby.

Yeah

Re: Harry Potter V.S. Twilight

It depends. Harry Potter is aimed at children and preteens of both genders, while Twilight is aimed at teenage girls. The responses you'll get depend on which demographic is answering, not which is a better book.

However, in my own personal opinion, I like Harry Potter better. If you like Harry Potter though, you might want to try out the Young Wizards Series by Diane Duane, they're great! *In my opinion, they're better than Harry Potter*... SSSHHHH! DON'T TELL THE POTTERHEADS!

I've read all of the Twilight books and never got the impression that Bella was supposed to be mentally challenged.

I don't know about that. I know lots of girls who love Harry Potter but don't particularly like Twilight.

Re: Harry Potter V.S. Twilight

Twilight is not stupid. It has a nice unexpected plot. I like Talor Laughtnor and all because hes hot, but thats not the reason. The twilight series was enjoyable. HarryPotter was unexpected but kind of lost my attention, It was hard to follow. THeir both good though.

Yeah actually, I've like, had Harry Potter movies playing on the TV in the same room as me but I wasn't really watching because it couldn't keep me interested. I've managed to watch almost all of one of the Twilight movies though.

Re: Harry Potter V.S. Twilight

It looks to me like this topic was set up in a rather one-sided manner and isn't really looking for a discussion so much as an argument.  Please remember that this forum is for discussing and sharing things that you find inspiring - not for beating up on what other people like.

If you want to discuss what you enjoy about HP or Twilight - that's fine.  But please don't start topics just to generate drama.  Take a look at the forum posting guidelines for more information.
